The work of FOTAD was featured on from various media platforms in 2010, which is a testament to the work of FOTAD. In particular, the work of FOTAD was twice featured in Destiny magazine. The CEO, Gqibelo Dandala, was nominated in Soul Magazine as a finalist in the Woman of the Year competition, because of the work of FOTAD.

Gqibelo spoke on behalf of and about FOTAD on various radio stations as well, namely SAFM and Radio 2000.

The work of FOTAD was featured on the lifestyle programme Spirit Sundae. FOTAD was also one of the organisations featured in the University of Pretoria/Multichoice Vuka awards competition.

In 2010, Gqibelo undertook a course called the Social Entrepreneurship Certificate Programme (SECP) at the University of Pretoria business school, GIBS, to ensure that FOTAD becomes more efficient, effective and most importantly scalable to reach more girls throughout South Africa’s impoverished communities.

The work of FOTAD was also recognised by the MIT Sloane Fellows Class of 2010, and as such FOTAD was presented with a certificate of recognition.
